Studio Design & Construction

Our approach to Studio Design focuses on audio quality and flexibility. Utilizing the QSC Q-SYS platform, we have created touchscreen driven digital studio environments that operate nearly identical to many common analog broadcast consoles. The Q-SYS platform is extremely flexible and supports a wide range of digital audio sources including AES67, Dante, AES3, PCM/MP3 RTP streams as well as traditional analog I/O. The processing and routing capabilities are nearly limitless and allow us to customize each studio for the station’s specific needs. We have decades of experience with construction, acoustic design, and treatment.

Telemetry & Monitoring

We have extensive experience with telemetry and monitoring including analog/digital GPIO and SNMP. This allows us to create custom tailored, centralized monitoring for the entire spectrum of equipment within your station. Data that is collected is stored, graphed, and can be used to generate automated alerts when parameters are out of specification. We have also used this information to create detailed wallboard displays and encrypted mobile apps allowing comprehensive monitoring and control of transmitters and environmental equipment.

Automation

Automation is a critical part of any studio environment. Our team is familiar with many common automation and playback systems. In addition, we have developed customized scripting and controls for many unique requirements. We have extensive experience with GPIO and NetCue relays from XDS and Wegener satellite receivers. Do you need to broadcast a syndicated sports game on your transmitters but still want to keep your regular programming for your live stream? Our team can help achieve your goals.

Transmitters

We have installed and currently maintain transmitters ranging from 100W up to 10kW from prominent manufacturers including Gates/Harris, Broadcast Electronics, Crown, Ecreso, Collins, and many others. Our team's experience in transmitter maintenance combined with our telemetry and monitoring solutions allow us to take a proactive approach to transmitter care so we can prevent unexpected problems from creating downtime and keep your station on the air without interruption.

Installation, Tuning, Fault Finding & Repair

We have state of the art test equipment from Anritsu, Belar, Delta Electronics, Tektronix, Fluke, and other leading brands to accurately troubleshoot and repair your equipment. Our tower crew has an extensive background working with FM antennas (directional, omni, and multi-bay), AM antennas (series fed and shunt fed), UHF, and even cellular. We have the skillset to diagnose and repair antenna tuning, cabling, termination, and grounding issues. We can also service generators, tension guy wires, and perform tower inspections.

Modern IP based STL links offer a variety of benefits including the ability to carry internet and telemetry information to/from the tower site. Our team has the technical expertise to design customized STL solutions based on your needs. For shorter links in uncongested areas, utilizing the unlicensed 5GHz band is often a great, cost-effective solution. For more complicated links, licensed frequencies in alternate bands can be utilized. We currently have over 40 IP based links deployed across the country in addition to those we operate on our own tower.

NRSC Measurements

The FCC requires NRSC measurements once each calendar year for every AM station during each mode of operation. AM stations are required to keep at least two years of measurements on file. We utilize spectrum analyzers from Anritsu and calibrated antennas to create traceable, accurate measurements of occupied bandwidth, harmonics, and intermodulation (for diplex / triplex setups). Clients are provided with a detailed electronic report for their records.
